SUMMER 2009 EXHIBITIONS AT KATHLEEN EWING GALLERY
The gallery is now located at 3615 Ordway Street, in Cleveland Park, just one block off Wisconsin Avenue, between Newark & Porter Streets. Street parking is easy and convenient.
You are invited to visit the Gallery on Saturdays from July 10th to August 22nd from 12noon to 5:00pm, or call for an appointment more convenient to your schedule. You will be greeted by summer music, iced tea & cookies and a very large, incredibly friendly, canine companion, Teddy.
ON VIEW: CLASSIC & CONTEMPORARY PHOTOGRAPHY The Classics include A. Aubrey Bodine, Esther Bubley, Willy Ronis, August Sander and Edward Weston. Contemporary photography includes John Grant, Tim Hall, Stephen Lawson, Alex MacLean, Rosamond Purcell, Claudia Smigrod, Steve Szabo and others.
ALSO ON VIEW: TREASURES FROM THE GALLERY'S ATTIC It is amazing what you find when you move. Among the unearthed photographs are a series of vintage 1890s landscapes made with the original Kodak Camera, advertised as "anybody can use it;" 19th Century European Camera Work gravures from the early 20th century; a series of color dye transfer images from Marion Post Wolcott's 1930s FSA photographs.
Many of these "treasures" are affordably priced and suitable for the "art of giving art." |
